Amy Schumer Leaves $30K Tip For West Village Comedy Club

Taking part in a new reality show, Amy Schumer left a $30,000 tip at the Comedy Cellar in the West Village, where she got her start.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A comedy club in the West Village just got quite the tip.

For a recent episode of "The Great American Tip-Off," comedian Amy Schumer and host Marcus Lemonis visited the Comedy Cellar on 117 MacDougal Street.

Schumer left the unexpecting staff a $30,000 tip. "This place changed my life," Schumer said during the visit to her old stomping grounds.

Other stars like Kristen Bell and Jason Biggs have already left significant tips for businesses as part of the show, aiming to give $1 million overall.

Schumer has a long history in the West Village, living and working in the neighborhood for many years.

She performed a set at the Comedy Cellar in 2019 and went back again to help reopen the club after its pandemic closure.
