"Hey NYC! What's happening in Aleppo is absolutely disgusting and we should all be in mourning for humanity right now. We CANNOT stand at the sidelines. We MUST act now. I know it feels hopeless but we have to educate the masses and we have to fight back and not be complacent in people's oppression," a protestor organizer, Hebh Jamal, posted on the Facebook event page.
Syrian government forces are bombarding Aleppo and attempting to starve out the last-remaining rebels, the New York Times reported Tuesday. According to the Times report, Russian officials declared that rebel forces agreed Tuesday to hand the city over to government forces.
