Fire In Charles Street Building Sends Smoke Across West Village

WEST VILLAGE, MANHATTAN, NY — A fire in the center of the West Village sent plumes of smoke across the neighborhood early Wednesday.

The blaze was under control by 8:40 a.m., the FDNY said.

It broke out at 30 Charles Street, a six-story building that holds 24 apartments, according to the website of owner Village Living Realty.
