Man Found Dead Under Subway Car in West Village Was Subway Surfing: NYPD​

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Police have identified the man who was found dead under a subway car at the downtown F-line platform at the West 4th Street Subway Station Dec. 3.

The Bronx man was identified as Quintin Watkins, 31, police said.

Watkins was decapitated while allegedly subway surfing at around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. He was riding outside the southbound F train when he hit a column and fell into the tunnel north of the station, police said.

Watkins was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Passengers were forced to evacuate all ten cars of the subway train.
