Man Robbed In A Late Night Attack In The West Village: Police

A 23-year-old man was punched in the face repeatedly and robbed recently near the corner of Waverly Place and Gay Street, according to NYPD.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — The New York Police Department is looking for a man wanted in connection to an attack and robbery that took place at the beginning of December in the West Village.

A 23-year-old man was walking near the intersection of Waverly Place and Gay Street when an unidentified man attacked, according to police.

Police said the attacker pulled the 23-year-old's jacket up over his head, punched him multiple times in the face, and demanded that he hand over any possessions.

The unidentified attacker then ran away with the 23-year-old's wallet and iPhone.

The victim received minor injuries, but did not need hospitalization.

Police released a photo Thursday of the man wanted in connection to the incident.
