Man Stopped from Jumping Off Lafayette Street Roof After Finding Dead Father

NYPD stopped an emotionally disturbed man from jumping off the roof of the building.

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — At 10:15 on Sunday morning, the NYPD responded to a call regarding an emotionally disturbed man sitting on the roof of a Lafayette St. Building.

The man found his father, John Snugg, 88, dead in the building at the 300 block of Lafayette Street. He became distraught and went to the roof of the building, police said.

The NYPD were able to convince the man to come down from the roof unharmed.
