Pedestrian Killed By Union Square Bus ID'd: NYPD

GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY — The woman killed by a MTA bus Wednesday afternoon has been identified by police officials.

Brooklyn resident Roberta Lerman, 70, was struck by a Staten Island express bus laden with passengers as she tried to cross Broadway at East 13th Street, just steps from Union Square, police said.

First responders declared Lerman dead at the scene, officials said. No other injuries were reported, according to police.

Police added that the MTA bus driver remained on the scene and that no arrests have been made yet in the ongoing investigation.
