These West Village Public Bathrooms Are Open Despite The Pandemic

WEST VILLAGE, NY — Among the many small inconveniences imposed by the coronavirus pandemic has been the temporary closure of public facilities we once depended on for comfort — or a bathroom break.

Thankfully, some public restrooms remain open, and a new report by the Manhattan Borough President's office compiled more than 100 of them across the borough, including their hours and wheelchair accessibility.

Discussion around access to public bathrooms has increased with a rise in people experiencing homelessness in the city and an aligning decrease in the available indoor bathrooms.

Bleecker Playground:

• Hudson and West 11th Street
• 8 a.m. to dusk
• Not wheelchair accessible

Corporal John A. Servalli Playground:

• 17 Horatio Street
• 8 a.m. to dusk
• Not wheelchair accessible

Downing Street Playground:

• Downing to Carmine Streets, Avenue of the Americas
• 8 a.m. to dusk
• Not wheelchair accessible

Washington Square Park

• 8 a.m. to dusk
• Not wheelchair accessible
