Thief Robs West Village Shoe Repair Shop, Police Say

A robber stole $500 in cash from a West Village shoe repair store over the weekend.

WEST VILLAGE, NY — A man busted into a shoe repair shop in the West Village and stole hundreds of dollars early Saturday, police said.

The robber broke open the front door of Hector's Shoe Repair, located at 11 Greenwich Ave., on Saturday, March 16 just before 1 a.m., according to police.

Inside, the thief snatched $500 cash from the store's register and fled, police said.

Police said the man is described as approximately 25-years-old and 5-feet 10 inches tall.
