WEST VILLAGE, MANHATTAN — A thief was able to snag $12,000 worth of cash, bags and jewelry after breaking into a West Village home with what seems to be a massive, luxury closet.

The man forced his way through the locked door at the home, found near West 13th Street and Greenwich Avenue, just after 2 a.m. on Monday, cops said.

Once inside, he grabbed several handbags and jewelry from the home, which looked like a small store given the number of racks, shelves and rows of clothes and accessories piled inside, according to police and video.

The burglary is the latest big-time heist in Lower Manhattan's 6th Precinct, although all others have been at high-end stores rather than residences.

Most recently two women stole nearly $30,000 worth of items from The RealReal. Before that, a group of thieves broke into a Jimmy Choo on Greene Street and stole $36,000 in wallets and purses and masked thieves busted into the Mackage Clothing Boutique and took 52 coats worth $40,000 total, police said.
