Water Main Break Shuts Off Water To 100 Homes Near Union Sq: DEP
A water main break near East 13th Street will shut off water at 4 p.m. Thursday for more than 100 people near the block, officials said.

UNION SQUARE, NYC — A water main break near Union Square will shut off water for more than 100 nearby homes on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The city will shut off water for about 100 homes and 25 businesses at 4 p.m. to repair the broken water main, which is found on East 14th Street near the lower end of Union Square.
The water shutdown will impact East 13th Street blocks between Broadway and University place, according to Council Member Carlina Rivera.

It will likely take a few hours to fix and water will then be turned back on, a spokesperson for the Department of Environmental Protection said. The spokesperson said the 125 residents and business owners were notified of the repairs.
The water main break is the second to happen this week on Manhattan's west side.
