• Westbury native Gerald Elias and his recently published book (longislandpress.com) — A Westbury-raised violinist and mystery writer, Gerald Elias, has released a new crime-story collection partly inspired by his Long Island roots and early years at Westbury High School. His book follows a kindhearted retired NYPD chief solving murders while traveling, with Elias already drafting a sequel that again draws on places he’s visited with family.
