The celebrity chef has had her work featured in an array of high profile magazines and on the Food Network.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A celebrity chef came home to the Hamptons recently to share her talents with local schoolchildren.

Nearly 20 years after graduating Hampton Bays High School, Emily Peterson prepared a healthy meal for Hampton Bays middle school students.

Peterson, who graduated in 1997, paid a visit to the kids last week and cooked up egg tortilla pie, chicken sandwiches and spinach basil pasta with help from students enrolled in Hampton Bays High School’s culinary program.

Since graduation, Peterson’s work has been featured in Edible, Modern Farmer and Martha Stewart magazines, The New York Times and on the Food Network. She also hosts the podcast Sharp & Hot and manages a five-acre farm where she raises honeybees and free-range chickens, a release said.

“It is so important to teach students about clean eating and the sources of our foods so that they are empowered to make nutritious choices and practice living healthy lifestyles,” Peterson said.
