Center Moriches Man Charged With DWI In Hampton Bays: Police
He was found in the car with the keys in the ignition and the engine running, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Center Moriches man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Hampton Bays Saturday, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 3:10 p.m. on Montauk Highway when a call came in about Miguel A. Pirir, 24, who was seen driving west in a "reckless and erratic manner."
An officer responded and found a vehicle fitting the description parked on West Montauk Highway, police said. Pirir was sitting in the driver's seat with the keys in the ignition and the engine running; police determined that he was intoxicated, authorities said.

Pirir was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and issued a summons for a traffic violation, police said. He was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
