Cops: Two Injured in Flanders Road Accident

One driver rear-ended a vehicle that had stopped to allow a pedestrian to cross, police said.

A car accident Tuesday evening near the Riverside traffic circle sent two to the hospital, police said.

According to New York State police, the accident happened just past McDonald's on Flanders Road in Riverside at 6:18 p.m.

Police said the two car accicent happened when one motorist stopped to allow someone to cross the street and was rear-ended by another driver. Both were transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said.
