The WHBPAC's Teen Theatre Project is the cornerstone of the Nancy & Frederick DeMatteis Arts Education’s unique and innovative Teen Theatre Program at the Center. Teen Theatre Project focuses on cultivating and honing acting technique while producing a full-length, public performance of Hart and Kaufman’s You Can’t Take It With You!
Teen actors, ages 12 and up, can audition privately on Saturday, January 7 with a prepared two-minute monologue for a non-musical play. Auditions are by appointment only! The cast will rehearse weekly for twelve weeks. Then, over the school break in April, the cast will meet daily for an intensive rehearsal process using costumes and sets, culminating in two public performances on Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14.
The Teen Theatre Project program schedule is as follows:
Saturday, January 7: Audition
January 10 - April 14: Weekly Tuesday Rehearsals, 6 - 8:30pm
April 18 - April 22: Teen Theatre Intensive, 11am - 4pm
April 13 & 14: Public Performance of "You Can’t Take It With You," 8pm.
