If you have admired the beautiful model ships made by Ripley Ropes on display at the library, or appreciate or are curious about the art and craft of a shipwright, you’ll want   to reserve your tickets early for this special program. Daniel Pariser, who has been the conservator of ship models at South Street Seaport Museum, Christie’s Auction House and the FDR Presidential Library, also restored our wonderful model ships. He will discuss our collection, as well as the history of the ships depicted, how they were translated into models, the damages the models suffered, and how they were restored to their present condition.
