Hampton Bays Basketball Tournament Raises Money For Cancer Research

The annual Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Tournament, which was recently held at Hampton Bays High School and included teams from seven area school districts, raised $5,000 for the American Cancer Society.

During the tournament, girl and boy teams from Hampton Bays, as well as Eastport-South Manor, Southold, Mt Sinai, Sag Harbor, Rocky Point and Bayport-Blue Point scrimmaged each other to win awards, including most valuable player.

This year, Alexis Fotopoulos, a junior at Hampton Bays High School, received the most valuable player award for the girls.

During the tournament, the Hampton Bays basketball teams took home the tournament champion title for girls and runner-up for boys.
