Hampton Bays Man Stole Over $50,000 From Scholarship Fund: Police
The fund was set up in memory of Arthur Jones, who was killed in the World Trade Center in the 9/11 attacks, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY - A Hampton Bays man was arrested on Thursday for stealing over $50,000 from a scholarship fund, according to Southampton Town Police.
Detectives arrested Warren K. Booth III, 51, for stealing from the Arthur J. Jones III Scholarship Fund, which was set up in memory of Arthur Jones who was killed in the World Trade Center in the 9/11 attacks, according to police.
Back in 2001 when the Jones family starting receiving donations from friends, families, and businesses they decided to honor Jones by setting up a scholarship fund for students of the Hampton Bays School District.

Booth, while acting in the capacity of an administrator of the fund, removed over $50,000 from the account from August 2010 until recently, police said.
Booth turned himself into Southampton Town Police Department on Thursday and was charged with second degree grand larceny.

He was held overnight and arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court Friday morning. He was released on his own recognizance.
