Hampton Bays St. Patrick's Day Parade Back After Pandemic Pause

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Irish eyes will be smiling and the sound of bagpipes will fill the air as the 16th annual Annual Hampton Bays Hiberians St. Patrick's Day parade returns on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m.

"We are very proud to announce this years Grand Marshal as Mr. Michael Quinlan. Mike is one of the founding members and a very important cog that drives our success. We are honored to have him lead our 16th annual parade this March 19," organizers said.

According to the event's website, Quinlan, who was slated to serve as grand marshal in 2020 before the pandemic pause, is active in the Hampton Bays Hibernians and the Ancient Order of Hibernians where he was "Man of the Year" in 2015. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus 7023 and Southampton Elks Lodge 1574.

"Michael, who usually goes by 'Mike,' resides in East Quogue with his wife Rene, a Hampton Bays native, and four children Finn, Nolan, Aidan and Ryan," the website said in 2020. "He is the owner of a family business, Quinlan Electric in Hampton Bays, which was started by his father T. Michael Quinlan, former organizer and 2006 grand marshal."
