Hampton Towns Ranked Among Top Most Expensive Summer Destination in the U.S.

The survey was conducted by Travelmag.com.

Montauk was recently named the top most expensive summer destination in the country by Travelmag.com.

The survey was conducting by comparing hotel prices at several major locales.

“In particular, the minimum cost for each destination was determined, reflecting the cheapest amount, on average, travelers can expect to pay for an available double room during the month of August,” according to Travelmag.com

However, the survey excludes hotels and inns with a non-central location and with an average rating of guests less than three 3 stars.

The average rate for the cheapest available double room between August 1 and August 31, 2015 in Montauk is $316.

Saratoga Springs comes in a close second with an average price of $312 and Martha’s Vineyard comes in third with an average price of $284.

Two other Hampton locales made the top 20 list, with East Hampton coming in fifth with an average price of $257 and Southampton coming in number 17 with an average price of $207.
