WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — A head-on crash involving an SUV with four people inside, including a two-week -old infant and a child, 9, left three injured in Westhampton Beach Wednesday night, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, at 8:19 p.m., several calls came in regarding a head-on crash on County Road 31 near Francis S. Gabreski Airport. Patrol units from Southampton Town and Westhampton Village Police responded.
A 2020 Chevy Traverse with four people, including a two-week-old baby, was heading south on Country Road 31 when the vehicle collided with a 2006 Honda Pilot with just a driver inside, police said.

The Traverse overturned after the collision, and all four occupants were able to exit the vehicle, police said.
The driver of the Honda Pilot was trapped, police said. The Westhampton Beach Fire Department responded to help in extricating the man, 31, from the vehicle, police said. Suffolk County Aviation transported him to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the 2020 Chevy Traverse, a woman, 38, was transported to a local hospital, and the front passenger, a man, 41, was unharmed, police said. The two-week-old baby in the rear was unharmed, but a 9-year-old child, who was also seated in the rear, was transported with injuries to the same hospital, police said.
Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance and Flanders-Northampton Volunteer Ambulance responded.
The roadway was closed in both directions between Stewart Avenue and Rogers Avenue as the investigation continued, police said.
