Local Kids Participate in Ponquogue Beach Cleanup
Kids collected over 35 bags of litter and debris from the beach, organizers said.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Kids took to the beach to make a difference in the Hamptons this weekend.
Southampton Town Councilwoman Christine Scalera and BEACH Magazine sponsored the third Annual Kids' Beachcomber Clean-Up Contest for children of all ages Saturday at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays.
The kids collected more than 35 bags of litter and debris from the beach and volunteers from the Peconic Baykeeper also came out to participate, organizers said.

Plans are in place to continue the cleanup efforts each summer moving forward.
Prizes from Hamptons Trading Company, Sunrise to Sunset/Flying Point Surf Shop and Lands’ End were awarded to the top beachcomber winners, a release said.

Lands’ End also donated T-shirts for each participant in this year’s clean up.
