Longtime Westhampton Beach Fire Department Volunteers Honored

Among the many accolades they received were proclamations from the Village of Westhampton Beach and Rep. Lee Zeldin.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Heroes were honored recently for their years of service to the Westhampton Beach Fire Department.

The volunteers were feted at the annual Westhampton Beach Fire Department dinner, held at the Westhampton Country Club on Friday, June 7, a release from the fire department said.

Lieutenant Hermon “Bo” Bishop and Second Assistant Chief Al Tudisco were honored for their many years of service in the department; among the many accolades they received were proclamations from the Village of Westhampton Beach and Rep. Lee Zeldin.

In addition, firefighter Paul Bugge was named Firefighter of the Year, and Lieutenant Lewis Scott received the Officer of the Year award; Robert Iberger was honored with the Chief Stephen
Smith Award, and Paul Hoyle, Darryl Schunk, Robert Eckles, Jrl, John Neely, and Chad Lynch were named top responders for 2018.

The following volunteers also received years of service awards: Floyd Tyson (40 years), Dr. Michael Dempsey (35 years), Ross Donneson (20 years), Robert Cooke (10 years), and Robert Eckles, Jr., Eloise Carter, and Paul Capozzola (5 years each).
