Man Charged With Selling Vaping Products, Marijuana: Cops

He sold to teens and young adults from his home, in the rear lot of a 7-Eleven, and on side streets, police say.

WESTHAMPTON, NY — A Westhampton man was arrested and charged with selling vaping products and marijuana to local teens, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, who responded to complaints from the community regarding heavy drug traffic at a Westhampton residence, the police department's Community Response Unit began an investigation approximately 10 days ago.

The investigation revealed that Jack Ryan Martin, 23, of 34-15 Beaver Lake Condos in Westhampton, was engaged in the sale of marijuana, THC vape cartridges and vape pens to young adults and high school students, police said.

Martin advertised his variety of illegal products, targeting youth, on social media and sold directly from his residence and around the rear lot of the Mill Road 7-Eleven store, as well as area side streets, police said.

Martin was arrested when the CRU unit, along with Southampton Town Police detectives, executed a search warrant at his residence Friday morning at 10:30 a.m., police said.

Evidence recovered included vape THC cartridges, a quantity of marijuana, and more than $3,000 in cash, police said.

Martin will be arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court Saturday morning on charges including second degree criminal sale of marijuana, a felony; fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony; seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the Southampton Town Police Department's detective division at (631) 728-5000.
