Oil Burner Puffback Causes High Carbon Dioxide Levels In Building
The Hampton Bays Fire Department was on the scene, where high levels of carbon monoxide were found in a building, officials say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — The Hampton Bays Fire Department responded to a commercial fire alarm Thursday sparked by an oil burner puffback with high levels of carbon monoxide in the building, officials said.
Crew members entered the basement, turning off the boiler and providing high output fans to clear out the carbon monoxide gases, the Hampton Bays Fire Department said.
Firefighters were at the building for close to an hour; fire police created safe lanes of traffic for travel in both directions on Ponquogue Avenue while keeping a safe scene for those operating in and around the building and fire apparatus, officials said.
