Police: Middle Island Man Arrested on DWI Charge in Westhampton
The man was stopped when police saw him driving with an orange construction cone under his car.

A Middle Island man was arrested on a DWI charge in Westhampton early Sunday morning, according to Southampton Town Police.
James E. McDonnell, 60, was stopped in Montauk Highway due to him dragging a large orange work zone construction barrel underneath his car as he was driving eastbound, police said.
After he was stopped, it was learned that McDonnell was intoxicated, police said.

He was arrested and transported to the Southampton Town Police Headquarters for proccesing, accoridng to police.
McDonnell was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and moved from lane unsafely, according to police.

He was held for morning arraignment.
