Southampton Town Trustees' New President Sworn In

The son of Edward Warner Sr. who served as Southampton Town Trustee President for almost 30 years, followed in his father’s footsteps when he was sworn in as president himself earlier this week, according to a report in 27east.
Edward Warner Jr. was sworn in on Monday afternoon nine years after his father passed away, according to the report. Warner will be replacing former president Eric Shultz, who will remain a Trustee and has been president since 2011, according to the report.

“This is a bittersweet day for me,” Warner said according to 27east. “I’m taking over a position as a Trustee that he wanted me to have. It’s a dear thing to my heart, and I take the responsibility very, very seriously.”
The Hampton Bays resident was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonality of the Town of Southampton on April 17, 2006, according to his bio on the Southampton Town website.

Warner filled the vacancy created after the death of his father on March 2, 2006.
A special election was held on November 7, 2006 to fill the remainder of Warner Sr’s term of office.
