Westhampton Beach High School Students Recognized For High Scores On PSAT

Seven students received commendations from the National College Board and one student was named a National Merit Semifinalist.

Seven Westhampton Beach High School seniors were recently recognized with commendations from the National College Board for their high scores on the PSAT exam, which they took as juniors last fall.

The students ranked in the top 34,000 of more than 1.5 million students who took the exam.

In addition to the seven commended students, the College Board named one of Westhampton Beach High School’s students, Brianna Derevjanik, a National Merit Semifinalist.

“Having eight students recognized is tremendous for a school our size,” said Principal Christopher Herr. “These students are extremely talented and we can’t wait to find out which universities they will attend next fall.”

The seven commended students are: Zachary Anastasia, James Blydenburgh, Joseph Magro, Harshil Mehta, Michael Pesce, Stephan Sutter and Laura Halsey.
