Westhampton Beach School Budget Vote: What You Need To Know
Here's what you need to know before you cast your ballot in Westhampton Beach.

WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — Westhampton Beach residents will head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots in the 2023 to 2024 school budget vote and school board candidate election.
The Westhampton Beach Union Free School District's proposed budget of $62,994,351 represents a budget-to-budget increase of 2.36 percent and a tax levy increase of 2.24 percent, in compliance with the tax levy cap.
“The proposed budget is a direct reflection of the district’s dedication to ensuring that our students receive a high-quality education while maintaining fiscal responsibility,” said
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carolyn Probst. “We could not accomplish this without
the community’s unwavering support.”

She added: "The budget was developed with an awareness of the present fiscal climate and accounts for inflation costs while also maintaining all programming. Students from elementary to middle to high school will continue to have unique opportunities available to them that ensure they are ready for success upon graduation."
Two candidates are running unopposed for two open Board of Education seats, including Halsey Stevens and Heather Wright.

Polls will be open on Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the High School's large group instruction room.
