2 Seriously Hurt After Car Collides With Tractor-Trailer

BAY SHORE, NY-Â Two people were seriously injured when the car they were riding in crashed into a tractor-trailer in Bay Shore early Friday morning, police said.
According to police, 57-year-old Billy David Goodman, of Arkansas, was driving a 2007 International tractor-trailer east on Sweeneydale Avenue and attempted to turn left onto northbound Fifth Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a southbound 2016 Lexus at 4:15 a.m.
Officers from Emergency Service Section responded and extricated the two occupants of the Lexus, which became pinned underneath the tractor-trailer, police said.

The driver and passenger of the Lexus, who have not yet been identified, were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for serious injuries, police said. Goodman was not injured.
The Motor Carrier Safety Section inspected the tractor-trailer, which is owned by Be Good Trucking, and the Lexus was impounded for a safety check, police said.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-852-8352.
