3 Injured After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Ambulance

The pickup truck was turning onto the Robert Moses Causeway when it struck the ambulance early Tuesday, police say.

WEST ISLIP, NY - Three people were injured after a pickup truck crashed into an ambulance on the Robert Moses Causeway in West Islip early Tuesday, State Police confirmed.

The pickup truck was turning northbound onto the parkway from Sunrise Highway when it failed to negotiate a turn and struck the Brentwood Legion Ambulance at about 2:39 a.m.

The driver of the ambulance and a passenger in the ambulance were taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Islip.

There were no patients in the ambulance at the time of the crash, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore.

All three injured were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests were made.
