• Man killed crossing Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst hit-and-run, driver arrested (greaterlongisland.com) — A man struck in a pre-dawn hit-and-run on Sunrise Highway in Lindenhurst was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead. Police later arrested a Brentwood man, charging him with leaving the scene of a fatal crash, and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously for a possible reward.
