Beach Street Middle School Names New Assistant Principal
The West Islip School District announced Wednesday that Amanda Harvey will serve as assistant principal at Beach Street Middle School.

WEST ISLIP, NY — Students at Beach Street Middle School have a new assistant principal.
The West Islip School District announced Wednesday that Amanda Harvey has been appointed to the role, and officially began the new position on August 25.
Harvey has been an elementary teacher in the West Islip School District for 23 years, working as a first-grade teacher for 21 years. She also currently holds a position as an adjunct professor at Brandman University since 2008, the district said.

“With 23 years of experience in the West Islip School District, I am motivated and grateful to continue to work and grow with the West Islip students, staff, and community at Beach Street Middle School,” Harvey said. “I look forward to being a part of the welcoming Beach Street family where together, we will continue to strive for excellence.”
Harvey holds both a bachelor’s degree in science and a master’s degree in reading K through 12 from SUNY Cortland. She also is certified as a school administrator and supervisor and school district administrator, the district said.
