A Thankful Thanksgiving

With Thanksgiving only a couple of days away there are truly many things to be thankful for. What are you thankful for this year?

Joe and I have talked about how grateful we are for our family. We are blessed with 2 amazing children, our 3 year old daughter, Maddy and our 7 month old son, Nicky.

Thankfully we are all also blessed with good health.Don't take your health for granted. It's easy to forget that there are people  suffering with illnesses, pain, starvation and many other ailments. Given the events that unfolded after Hurricane Sandy it seems many people have really begun to appreciate these simple yet oh so important parts of life again.

This Thanksgiving take a moment to be thankful for your and family's health as well as your freedom of movement! Disconnect from your electronics and go play with your kids or go for a walk or simply just enjoy your time with family and friends.

Here are a few ways to celebrate your health this year:

Give to those in need. If you are a blessed individual with good health, get out there and make a difference for those less fortunate. Whether it be a helpful hand at a soup kitchen, donate food cans to a local church, or just helping an elderly individual load their groceries into their car, be sure that no good deed goes unnoticed! You are nourishing your own soul and putting good energy out there by giving to others.

Laugh. Yes, it's that simple! Laughter is a powerful healer. It boosts your "feel good" hormones, beats stress and works those abs muscles all at once.

Take a walk after Thanksgiving meal. Burn off those extra calories and get your heart pumping. Walking is a wonderful way to boost mood and increase energy.

Drink red wine instead of white wine or beer. Red wine has a wonderful phenol in it called Resveratrol that comes from grapes. This helps lower bad cholesterol, lowers blood sugar and protects your cells from harmful substances. For more fabulous health topics click HERE. The greatest gift you can give is health!
