Are you suffering from Fibromyalgia? Then you MUST read this!

If you're suffering from Fibromyalgia this website could be the most important thing you've read all year! Yes, you really can improve the quality of your life. My name is Dr. Laura Bowen and I am a Chiropractor. I'm really excited and have something very important that I would like to share with you.

Since you're reading this you most likely know that Fibromyalgia(FM) is a chronic  disorder involving pain and an increased sensitivity in the entire musculoskeletal system. To be diagnosed with FM a patient generally must possess a minimum of 11 out of 18 specific tender points on the body. In addition to pain, most FM patients that I treat generally suffer from long term fatigue and/or sleep and mood disturbances.  As you already know this condition affects almost every aspect of your life in a not so positive way.

Here is where I can help. Vertebral subluxations are focal areas of spinal restriction and/or malposition. When present, subluxations will not only irritate the nerves that exit the spine (peripheral nervous system), but the irritations from these lesions will also feedback into the brain (central nervous system).

Information from the joints that are in your spine is passed to a very important part of your brain, the cerebellum. This part of the brain is responsible for body awareness, balance and coordination. Recent studies have even shown the cerebellum to be closely involved with maintaining proper cognitive function and playing a very significant role in emotional stability. The resultant loss of communication between your brain and body contributes to the chronic symptoms of FM.

Wow! I know that's a lot of info to process! Here it is in simple terms: when your spine is subluxated your body is not going to be able to communicate as well with your brain.  It's comparable to a blown fuse. You flick on the switch yet nothing happens. You need to fix the fuse so the circuit returns to normal.

Chiropractors are detect and correct subluxations with gentle spinal adjustments and pressure points. If you suffer from FM or know someone that does, encourage them to add chiropractic to their health regimen.  For more information and to schedule a consultation call 631-647-8324 today!
