West Islip Chamber's First 'Spotlight' Award Given

The West Islip Chamber Presents "Chamber Spotlight" award at networking event.

Greetings West Islip. This is Diane Fontana, president of the West Islip Chamber of Commerce. For those of you who missed our last networking event we are hoping you will attend the next one in August.

We awarded our very first spotlight award to some very deserving residents, Bill and Gloria Johnston. Their tireless efforts over the years have made our town a nicer place to live. Their involvement in the KIC Program (Keep Islip Clean) is unsurpassed as founding members. You may see Bill alongside the road cleaning up or his efforts with the West Islip Beautification Society. Let's all give a big cheer for them!

Coming up this Mother's Day is the Ninth annual Elizabeth T.McNamee 5K Run. This is where our entire community comes out and runs for a good cause. Elizabeth was a member of our community that passed away at an early age due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Your participation helps with HCMA, Juvenile Diabetes Association, The Great South Bay YMCA, Children's Hospital, scholarships and other community projects. Hope to see you all there.
