Caretaker Injured After Armed Men Invade W. Babylon Home With 5 Children Inside
Male caretaker injured; 10 people, including five children, forced into bedroom during robbery.

Armed men forced 10 people inside a West Babylon home, including five children, into a bedroom while they robbed the home of cash and jewelry Thursday night, police said.
A male caretaker at the home on Newkirt Avenue was treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries after the robbers, either three or four of them according police, assaulted him an caused injuries to his head, face and body.
Police said they responded to a 911 call at 9:24 p.m.

The robbers, armed with handguns, entered the home that was occupied by 10 people at the time, police said.
Two couples live in the house along with five children and a female senior citizen, police said.

The robbers forced the occupants of the house into a bedroom, police said. There were three females, one male, the children (ages 2 to 9) and a caretaker, who does not live at the house. The husband of one of the females was at work at the time.
The caretaker, who does not live at the home, was the only person inside the home injured during the robbery, police said.
The robbers fled in an unknown direction after stealing cash and jewelry, police said.
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
