Patricia Alcus, of West Islip, created the page on Friday in order to raise $10,000 to help Bacchim pay for his medical expenses.
So far, a total of $7,430 has been raised.
"We are hoping that you, Joe’s friends and neighbors, can find it in your heart to give, whatever you are able, to help him and his family through these hard times," Alcus wrote on the page.
