GoFundMe Campaign Raises Over $1,000 For Local Resident Who Lost Home in Fire
The online fundraiser was created on Friday.

Over $1,000 was recently raised in an online fundraiser to help a Brentwood resident after his home was destroyed in a fire last week.
Early Thursday morning, a fire broke out on two-story home on Ridgewood Avenue.
The fire caused the first floor, second floor and roof to collapse. A total of 11 residents lived in the home.

All escaped the fire, but five people were treated for minor smoke inhalation. Three of them were transported to a local emergency room.
On Friday, Commack resident Eric Peterson started the fundraising campaign on GoFundMe. According to the page the fire also spread to the car of one of the residents making it inoperable.

"EJ is one of the hardest working guys I know, he never says no and will always go the extra mile with anything," the page reads. "He comes to work every day with a smile on his face, no matter what challenges he is faced with."
The goal of the page was to raise a total of $1,000 for the local resident and his family. As of Tuesday, a total of $1,376.
