Good Samaritan Hospital Promotes Two Employees
Congratulations to Peggy Nixdorf and Raymond Coffman!

Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip recently announced the promotion of two employees.
Last Tuesday the hospital announced that Central Islip Peggy Nixdorf has been named Director of Pastoral Care at both Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center and Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
An employee of Catholic Health Services for more than 17 years, Nixdorf will also continue in her role as Director of Pastoral Care at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Center.

She became a registered nurse in 1995 after she completed her associate’s degree in nursing at Suffolk Community College in Selden.
Nixdorf then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in health administration at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue in 1999.

She was certified as a Chaplain with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, in 2004.
At the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, she obtained her Master of Arts Degree in pastoral studies in 2009. She completed the National Catcholic Certification Program in Health Care Ethics with the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia in 2012.
She lives with her husband. They have three children, seven grandchildren and are parishinoers at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Islip Terrace.
In addition, last Wednesday the hospital announced that Oakdale resident Raymond Coffman, RT, RCIS, has been named Director of Cardiology.
Previously, Coffman worked as the Cardiology Service Line Coordinator at Good Samaritan since 2013. During that time he helped to launch an elective PCI program, new hybrid lab and cryo and carto left side ablations.
He started at Good Samaritan in 1996 as a Radiology Technologist.
Coffman is currently working on a MBA in Healthcare Administration at Keller Graduate School of Management.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue and his Associates in Applied Sciences at Nassau Community College in Hempstead.
