FIRE ISLAND, NY — Two adults and two children were rescued after their boat became disabled near the Fire Island Inlet on Sunday morning, according to the Coast Guard.
At 8:15 a.m., the Coast Guard received a phone call from a commercial salvage company stating that a 38-foot sailing boat was stuck due to the weather 2 miles from shore and that they were unable to respond.

In addition, the Coast Guard was informed that the boat’s engine was overheating and its anchor was not holding.
There were two adults and two children, who were beginning to suffer from severe seasickness, aboard the vessel.

A crew arrived on scene safely towed the boat to Robert Mosses Boat Basin.
No injuries were reported.
