ICYMI: Police Investigating String of Burglaries in West Islip

WEST ISLIP, NY - Police are investigating a string of burglaries that occurred in West Islip last month, according to Suffolk Police.

Between Nov. 4 and Nov. 24, there were a total of eight burglaries in the area. The burglaries occurred on Monroe Avenue, Namdac Avenue, Boulevard Avenue, Alden Avenue, Orinoco Drive, Toomey Road, Roosevelt Place and Westminster Lane, police said.

Out of the eight burglaries, six were via unlocked windows, one an unlocked door and one forced open a locked door, police said.

During two of the burglaries, there were no proceeds.

The other burglaries involved money, jewelry and/or electronics being stolen.

Police have increased patrols with both marked and unmarked units.
