Islip Town Officials Deliver Over 500 Thanksgiving Baskets to Families in Need

In addition, 570 turkeys were purchased for families in need this holiday.

Islip Town officials recently delivered over 500 Thanksgiving baskets and purchased turkeys to be given to local families in need this holiday.

Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter along with Councilmen Steve Flotteron and John Cochrane, Jr. presented the 554 baskets at Casamento Park in West Islip, which were given to local community groups to distribute to the families in need.

In addition, the Town purchased more than 570 turkeys through funding provided by Islip Food for Hope, to help feed the less fortunate in the Islip community.

“Every year our employees donate their time and supplies to help provide an authentic holiday experience for families in our community who are facing hardship,” Carpenter said. “I want to also thank the Islip Food for Hope Organization, led by MaryAnn Pfeiffer, for their tireless efforts to end hunger in our town.”
