Jets vs. Bills

Sunday’s game at MetLife Stadium will give Jets fans a good indication of what the Jets may be able to accomplish this season.  Over the past five years the Jets have had their way with the Buffalo Bills winning eight games and only losing two.    This season the Jets defense is ranked 3rd in the league and has shown signs of becoming one of the NFL’s best.  I expect them to give the Bills rookie quarterback, E.J. Manuel, a rough afternoon.

On the other hand, the Jets will also be starting a rookie quarterback.  Right now, Geno Smith is ranked 30th of the 32 starters across the league.  He is coming off a three interception fourth quarter that possibly cost the Jets a win in their week two showdown against their division rivals from New England.

Rather than limiting Smith against the Bills why not open up the offense?  The Bills have shown a weakness against the pass.  Smith has shown he has a strong arm and quick feet.  Have him throw the ball down the field, especially on first down.  Don’t force him to be just a game manager.   Give him the opportunity to use his talents.
