LGBT Community Planning Protest During Trump's Long Island Visit

President Trump will be visiting Long Island on Friday to discuss efforts to combat MS-13.

BRENTWOOD, NY - The New York LGBT Network will be hosting a protest in Brentwood on Friday for the arrival of President Donald Trump.

The protest is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. at Brentwood State Park on 375 Crooked Hill Road.

Trump is scheduled to speak at the Van Nostrand Theatre at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood at 1:30 p.m. He will be discussing efforts to combat MS-13, the gang believed to be behind at least 12 murders on the island.

However, the LGBT Network stated that concerned residents from the LGBT community will protesting Trump's recent proposal to ban transgender military personal.

President Trump announced on Wednesday that the United States will not "accept or allow" transgender people to serve in the military, overturning a decision made by President Obama to lift the barrier to entry in June 2016.
