OLL SCHOOL RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS ACCREDITATION BY MIDDLE STATES ASSOCIATION

Our Lady of Lourdes School in West Islip recently received its reaccreditation by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools Education (MSA-CESS).  This distinction was awarded after an extensive self-study coordinated by a Steering Committee whose members included Principal Mrs. Louise Krol and faculty members Gina Fasano, Krista Harris (Chairperson), Bernadette McHugh.

An accredited institution is an educational organization that meets all MSA-CESS Standards for Accreditation, adheres to all policies and meets the requirements for maintenance of accreditation. Accreditation is an impartial, third-party validation that an educational institution meets challenging, but achievable standards of quality, and provides a mechanism for continuous school improvement.

The dynamic process of accreditation requires the commitment and involvement of a wide range of stakeholders, including the faculty, students, parents, staff and parish. It engages the community and ultimately assures the public of the school’s integrity.

Middle States Accreditation provides accountability by comparing the institution to widely held and recognized standards of quality.  MSA accreditation also raises awareness of the positive aspects of education and, in turn, builds pride among the entire school community.

Our Lady of Lourdes School offers academically enriched programs for children from age 2 through 8th Grade.  Registrations are now being accepted for the 2014-2015 school year.
