Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Pickup Truck in Wyandanch

Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Wyandanch Sunday night.

According to police, a 32-year-old Dix Hills man was driving a 2015 GMC pickup truck south on Straight Path and attempting to make a left turn onto Long Island Avenue when the truck struck a pedestrian at about 8:30 p.m.

The pedestrian, Keith Norman, 58, of Wyandanch, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured.

The pickup truck was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed.
