Police: Suffolk County Community College Employee Secretly Videotaped Student Under Table

The 32-year-old, who is employed as a custodian, was arrested Saturday.

An Islip man employed as a custodian at Suffolk County Community College was arrested Saturday after he used a cellphone to secretly videotape a student under a table at the college’s Brentwood campus, police said.

According to police, David Marchese was sitting at a table during an awards ceremony held at the Michael J. Grant Campus on Crooked Hill Road when he was observed by a witness holding his phone under the table at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The phone was pointed at a female student who was also sitting at the table, police said. The witness notified security and police were called.

An investigation by Third Squad detectives determined that Marchese had videotaped the student’s underwear, police said.

Marchese was arrested and charged with second degree unlawful surveillance. He will be held overnight at the Third Precinct for arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
