Sick of “Revis Island”

I am so sick and tired of hearing about “Revis Island.  Darrelle Revis is a great NFL Cornerback.  He has been the top cover corner in the league.  I won’t argue that.  But he is not Superman.  He hasn’t played football in a year.  He is coming off a serious knee injury.  He is playing with an unfamiliar new team. 

Why not challenge him?  The biggest advantage the Jets have in Geno Smith is his extreme confidence.  He has said from day one he should start.  The Jets went out of their way to draft him, so they must believe he is a special talent.   And that talent includes a strong arm and quick feet.  Why not use them?

Revis has to be a little rusty.  He has to have some doubt about his ability to rebound from a devastating injury.  I believe the Jets should go at him.  Go at him often and early.  Test him long right away.  Then throw underneath.  See if he is at full strength. 

Rex Ryan laughed when the thought of going at Revis was suggested.  Let’s hope he was just playing possum...
